GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK​

Please read our booking information and house rules before confirming your stay.

​

• Minimum stay: two nights, increasing to seven nights during much of July and August

• Cleaning and linen: £120 per stay

• Dogs: £35 for one or £55 for two

• Maximum occupancy: nine guests

• Check-in: from 4pm using the key lockbox

• Check-out: by 11am

• Discounted ferry travel is available with direct bookings

House rules

• No smoking & no candles, no deep fat frying or anything that could be deemed a high fire risk - as it's a wooden building fire safety is extra important.

• Our insurance requires the fireguard to always be in place.

• No bath oils - as it's a sunken bath water is pumped out. Oils can block the pump, bubbles are fine.

• No parties or late night noise that could disturb neighbours. When playing the piano late at night please shut windows on that side of the building.

• Lock doors & secure windows when you leave the building.

• Bedding (duvets, pillows and linen) is supplied but please bring your own beach towels.

• If you use the barbecue please give the grill a quick scrub.

• When you depart please leave the house as you found it with any moved furniture back to where it was.

Rules for those bringing dogs

• Only well-behaved dogs please

• Do not bring a puppy or dog undergoing house training!

• No more than two dogs allowed

• Dogs are not allowed in bedrooms or on furniture - we have a stairgate to stop them climbing the stairs to the bedrooms

• Please bring your own dog bed and feeding bowls. Spare bowls and old towels are kept in the cupboard to the left of the sink.

• You must ensure that your dog is parasite free

• You must clean up outside after your dog without delay. Please check the garden before you leave!

• Dogs must not be left alone inside the property.

• The upper garden is fenced, but a determined dog may still be able to escape. We cannot accept any responsibility should your dog get out. The lower part of the garden (adjacent to the house) is fully enclosed (low fence - not secure for a jumper). Check gate is securely shut.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION

• A 25% deposit is payable when booking. The remaining balance is due 60 days before arrival.

• If your stay begins within 60 days, full payment is required when booking.

• Cancellations made 60 days or more before arrival will receive a full refund.

• Cancellations made 30–59 days before arrival will receive a 50% refund.

• Cancellations made fewer than 30 days before arrival are non-refundable.

• If we successfully rebook cancelled dates, we will refund the amount recovered, less any refund already made and any difference in price.

• We strongly recommend taking out suitable UK holiday insurance. 

• We also recommend checking that your insurance covers ferry cancellations and travel disruption. If ferry services are cancelled or disrupted due to weather, industrial action or other circumstances beyond our control, the cancellation terms above will still apply.

Please note that commercial photography or filming is not permitted when booking The Mission for a holiday.
